My nephew's cross-barrel vaulted ceiling, Czechia

The progress of the construction as recorded in the end of summer 2012

The next time I visited my Czech relatives was August to October 2012. When I arrived on August 1, all the inner walls were finished with the exception of the second-floor ceiling, and electrical wiring was mostly in place. Work continued mainly on in-floor heating, but also on water system, and multitudes of little details that needed to be finished.

My photos below (below the two outside views) show finally how the vaulted ceiling of the basement turned out.

The last three photos show the visually interesting patterns of the plastic tubes that constitute the in-floor heating system. All the system had to be assembled and pressure tested before the concrete was poured over these tubes to finish the floors (and hide for good these tube patterns). Then tiles or carpeting will then be put on the surface of the heated concrete layer.
