1. Sunset on the Winnipeg River - Febr. 6., 2000

The sun setting towards the horizon behind a curve of the river just south of Lac du Bonnet

And then after skiing for a few kilometers further south, I could observe in the western sky this colour display so typical of the Prairies

2. Frozen ice slabs in the Winnipeg River - Febr. 18, 2000

When in the middle of December temperature fell very fast, chunks of ice of various size accumulated just below my workplace across the whole river in more or less vertical position, and then froze in this position, and were later covered by snow. I got to taking pictures of the resulting formation only two month later.
