Georgia-Russia conflict, August 2008

I was angry at the biased media and the hypocrisy of politicians who do not treat everybody in the same way:
My letter to all Members of the Canadian Parliament

And angry that Georgian government was apparently encouraged to use force against South Ossetia and Abkhazia at a time when ordinary people for example on both sides of the border between Georgia and South Ossetia established relatively very good neighbourly relations and had a busy market set on the border which was a good place to slowly create trust between all of them. What a stupidity to burst into this peaceful scene with tanks, and re-ignite the old hatreds that were apparently slowly dying out!

If people on all sides just could learn how to get rid or at least to ignore over-ambitious politicians:
South Ossetia: Tskhinvali’s Apocalypse - quotes (among others) young Georgian soldiers: "If it weren't for Kokoity, Putin and Saakashvili, we wouldn't be here at all! Who needs this war?!"
(Kokoity is the South Ossetian president)

It is so sad that small nations are again at the whim of "realistic" geopolitics!
When will we finally solve conflicts by peaceful means!?
