Hornby Island has a wonderful network of bicycle and hiking trails concentrated mostly in the two
parks, Mt. Geoffrey Regional and Mt. Geoffrey Escarpment, around Hornby Island highest peak
Mt. Geoffrey, 300 m a.s.l.
The two Escarpment trails, Shingle Spit and Middle Bench, lead directly
to/from the Shingle Spit ferry terminal. The upper Middle Bench Trail goes on top of the edge of steep
cliffs at the elevation of about 120 - 180 m a.s.l., and provides spectacular views of
Denman and Vancouver Islands, the small red-roofed Chrome Island off the southern tip of Denman,
and of whatever lies just below the cliffs.

It is a very popular place, see e.g. the Comox hiking club reports.
