A goose couple who did not hurry south

Geese and the Pinawa bridge These two big wild Canada geese appeared near the Pinawa bridge only after the first frosts and snowfalls, at a time when an absolute majority of their kin had been for many weeks somewhere in the deep south of the USA. However, a very few of them do not seem to hurry south at all, and stay here as long as there is enough of open unfrozen water.
Both pictures were taken on Nov. 17, about a week after this goose couple appeared here. They looked as if they liked the place a lot, and were swimming side by side for days in the river. Yet in another week they were gone and must have continued south after all. They may just have been enjoying thoroughly on their long way from the north all the stops they fell in love with.
